Airfield
Basic information:
The airfield of Mlada Boleslav
(LKMB) is located on the southwest edge of the town. Due to its unusual
location, easy access is one of many advantages that the airfield can
offer. On the other hand we have to mind the urban agglomeration that is
quite close to the airfield.
To get here by car:
from the freeway Praha – Liberec take the exit Bezdecin, then follow the
road in the direction of Mlada Boleslav. You will see the airfield with
its hangars on the left hand side. Then take the first street to the
left.
From the town center
it is a 15-minute walk to the airfield or you can also use public
transportation.
The airfield’s
pattern is typical for our country and is the same as other flying
fields here. Grass runways make it possible to operate almost all
gliders and light propeller driven aircraft. Thanks to two grass landing
and take off runways we can operate in just about all wind conditions.
Sand subsoil gives us the opportunity to operate the airfield all year
around.
The airfield
was founded at its present location in late forties, early fifties and
was developing until today when it is a public domestic aerodrome.
